I’m going tonight to see my favorite actor of all time, Mr. Johnny Depp as the Demon Barber of Fleet Street in Sweeney Todd!

I love a musical… and a musical WITH Johnny Depp…. hot! A musical with Johnny Depp, Alan Rickman and directed by Tim Burton — orgasmic! I cannot wait!

POST MOVIE REVIEW: 

It’s just round 10p now and I’ve just gotten back from the theatre.  That movie was incredibly dark and gruesome, but the music was well done!  Dare I say I liked it almost as much as Across The Universe! 

What can I say, I’m a sucker for a musical. Johnny sounds a bit like David Bowie.

Love the accents, loved the costuming, loved the set, of course the acting was believable (though I’m not quite sure why they made Johnny and Helena quite so pale white).  The beach scene was laughable – when he touches her knee, the grimace on his face made me laugh out loud.

Sure parts were predictable – though my companion seemed to not have a clue – naturally I responded with a “Duh, I only knew that hours ago!”  I’m so sensitive sometimes.  Ha!

I may go see this again tomorrow after my shopping marathon.  Seriously good entertainment – just make sure you’re not squeemish at the sight of (very fake) blood.

5 out of 5 stars – Can’t wait to see this at the Ahmanson next year!
