I am a Christian woman. A chosen girl. I believe in the unfallable truth of the scriptures. BIBLE – basic instructions before leaving earth. Honestly, every problem I’ve had in my life, I’ve been able to find support and/or the answer to in the bible. It really is the living breathing word of God. That it could be as relevant today as it was 2000 years ago… there’s just no denying the Diety involved. Man could not have been that revealing, only God.
I believe in the trinity – father, son, holy ghost. I believe in the unity of church. I believe surrounding yourself with faithful people can only empower you to grow to greater heights in your faith. Fellowship is what helps strengthen your walk with Christ. You must seek out Christ-like qualities not only in yourself but also in others. Less of me, more of Him.
I’ve been an AWANA Leader and Director, a Sunday School teacher and Nursery attendee for almost 10 years now. I was baptised Catholic in my infancy, but opted on Easter of 1983 to rededicate myself at age 13 to following Christ as a non-denominational Christian. I currently attend an Evangelical Free church in my hometown but am taking a sabatical from teaching.
I read a version of the bible called The Message by Eugene Petersen. It’s in contemporary language and in paragraph form rather than verse aliteration. I like this version best for reading and for teaching because I believe the bible was written for the greater message. Not to be picked apart and misquoted. I believe in order to get the proper meaning of a verse, you often have to include the verses before and the verses after the scripture in order that the message is not taken out of context. The bible is subjective – a great deal is left to your own interpretation. I just like how clear The Message is.
