I pout therefor I am…

pouting pixie

Lent…. it’s difficult.  No red meat, no fried foods, nothing but water to drink.  Talk about sacrifice!  WOW!  I had no clue how hard the “just water” thing would be.  I managed to get through two “restaurant” meals without breaking the rules.  But that was just day one!

I hope your Lent is blessed with a multitude of clarity and cleansing.  I hope through sacrifice your relationship with Christ can grow by leaps and bounds.  Just go to the Word anytime you’re struggling with whatever sacrifice you opted for.  Want that piece of chocolate?  Go read a few passages in the Bible.  Tempted by a Diet Pepsi (me me me) – go to prayer.

Lent is more than sacrifice, it, like so many facets of Christianity is a trinity.  The three being – PRAYER, SACRIFICE, and AHMS.  First pray – that’s always a good one.  Sage advice.  First, pray ALWAYS.  Then make the necessary sacrifice(s) to honor your desire for change.  Finally be sure you give to the poor and treat people as you’d like to be treated.  Most of us are one paycheck away from being homeless — so don’t sneer at the man with the soiled clothing or the woman with ratted hair – that may be you, your child, your friend, or someone you know someday.

To that end, I’ve had to terminate an employee this week.  My least favorite.  This lady is terminally ill and could no longer perform her job functions.  It’s really sad — I hate this.

I came home to now power last nite because I failed to pay the bill.  Not that I couldn’t pay the bill, I just didn’t.  NICE!  Thankfully it was bedtime so after a candlelit episode of feeding the animals and taking showers.. we just hit the sac.  This morning I was thankful for the skylights.  ;)   Most mornings I am not!

Auditor in the office this week, President in from Chicago…. headache from caffiene withdrawl…. I’m feeling very pouty indeed.  Keep me in your thoughts.
